Tasmanian Indonesian Student Society (PPIA - Tasmania) was formed in 1962 for the first time. Then in 1973, the PPIA-Tas was abandoned since there were not many Indonesian left in Tasmania. Then in 1984 many students came because of the scholarship and from government sponsor to study in Tasmania, so PPIA-Tas reformed again.
In 2007 PPIA-Tas has changed it name to ISS - Indonesian Student Society.
Tasmania is a state of Australia. Unlike the other states it is not joined to the mainland. The Bass Strait Sea separates it. Abel Janszoon Tasman discovered an island called Tasmania in 1642. When Tasmania was first founded it was not known as Tasmania it was known as Van Diemen’s Land. White people were not the first people to come to Tasmania before that there were aboriginals. Aboriginals are the native people to Tasmania and have lived here for a very long time.
Tasmania has many cities within its self. The capital of Tasmania is Hobart. Some other cities in Tasmania are Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.
