“An event to raise money for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service in Indonesia”
The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, which ravaged through the Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, caused great structural damage to the entire city of Banda Aceh. The Australian Red Cross is involved in the “Aceh Blood Project”, a 5 year plan to restore the Banda Aceh Blood Transfusion Unit and to provide specialised training to clinicians, laboratory technicians, and volunteers. All funds raised from Indonesian Night will go towards this great cause.
